How to dress

The arena temperature fluctuates, depending on the outside temperature. All ages should wear comfortable pants (no jeans), sweater, light jacket, hat and mittens. Loose fitting clothing is recommended for skating to give more freedom of movement.

How to fit and lace skates

Seldom will you wear the same skate size as street shoes. Up to size 4, you will probably take a half size smaller in a skate. About size 4, you will probably take a full size smaller. Exceptions are those with an extremely wide foot. Remember the snugger the fit, the better the support for your ankles. Loosen the laces to put on the skates. Once on, the skate should be tied snug, not tight. If tied too tightly at the top, you may restrict circulation.
